(1) complement

: 보어라는 문법적 뜻, 첨가물, 추가물이란 뜻으로 쓰임

 

to make something else seem better or more attractive when combining with it

ex. Strawberries and cream complement each other perfectly

(2) compliment

: 쉬운 단어지만, 발음상 헷갈릴 수 있는 어휘

 

a remark that expresses approval, admiration, or respect

ex. He complained that his husband never paid him any compliments anymore.

(3) supplement

: 첨가물, 추가물이란 뜻으로 쓰임

 

something that is added to something else in order to improve it or complete it; something extra

총 8조각 짜리 케이크가 있는데 7조각만 있다고 생각해보자. 

한 조각을 더해서 케이크를 완성하거나, 두 조각을 더해서 9개 짜리의 케이크를 만들었다면?
